Created to respond to new Home Information pack legislation and in particular a mandatory part of the pack, the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) this relatively young company has rapidly established itself as the leading professional and specialist UK Environmental Trainer in Energy Assessment.
Working as a City & Guilds accredited Centre of Excellence, the training and assessment packages developed by this business have been specifically designed to address the demand arising from a huge shortfall of skilled and qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA’s) in the UK – with training leading to the City and Guilds Level 3 accredited Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment, the qualification required for Assessors to produce EPC’s.
Courses which are two weeks long combine a week of theory and a week of practice with trainees carrying out Energy Surveys on four properties and completing their reports using RdSAP software. With the vast majority of delegates having little or no experience or formal qualifications and often already employed in corporate life the intensive nature of the course allows delegates to undertake their training during holiday periods, staying with their current employer until they are ready to take on Domestic Energy Assessment work. Courses have typically been run monthly with between ten and fifteen delegates per course, each paying £2,495 including VAT, excluding accommodation costs, which delegates are required to arrange independently but including all training materials and manuals, the City and Guilds examination fee, Portfolio Assessments as well as the RdSAP Training Software Licence fee.
